Stories carried forward
Our Story
49Dzine is rooted in family stories passed from one person to the next. At the heart of those stories is the founder's great grandmother Margaret, whose roots run deep into Niitsitapi history. Through Charlie Davis, Rosie Davis, Rainy Chief, Falling Over A Bank, Chief Iron Pipe, Double Gun Woman, and the Matokiks Women's Society, that lineage is carried with pride. Some of the earliest memories live in Margaret's kitchen, a room remembered as an archive of memory where history stayed alive. Today, 49Dzine brings that sense of continuity into Indigenous-designed clothing, fabric, craft supplies, shoes, and mukluks for customers across the USA and Canada.
